Buller Classic Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
A touch of history:
At the end of the first world war, Reginald "Reg" Langdon Buller served with distinction in the Royal Australian Navy and returned to his pre-war public service job as a fourth class clerk. But he wasn't cut out for a public service career and spent six months working in a winery to gain experience and started looking for his own vineyard. It was a tumultuous start. The first storm to beset his fledgeling vineyard wiped out his second vintage. However he managed to stay afloat and said through the Great Depression. By the end of the 1930's Buller Wines started to prosper.
In the 1940's Reg Buller rejoined the Navy for the duration of the World War II. In 1951, he started a new vineyard and started a new winery. The winery is now owned and managed by Gerald and Mary Judd who continue Reg's passion and the rest, as they say, is history.
A true classic wine, blended from grapes harvested from Swan Hill and King Valley. Aromas of berry fruits and a hint of toasted oak. The palate offers full bodied flavours tasting like blackcurrant and bramble jams with a hint of vanilla. Rounded tannin carries through to a moderate finish of dark cherry.
